Elbląg Chamber Orchestra opens musical autumn

EOK

How to inaugurate the artistic year? The Elbląg Chamber Orchestra has already found the answer to this question and will begin its 12th season with Paweł Gusnar and Rafał Grząki. The concert will take place on September 29, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the State Music School in Elbląg.

Together with well-known soloists, the chamber musicians will prove that string instruments can find a common musical language with saxophone and bandoneon. They will do it under the baton of Nikola Kołodziejczyk – the winner of two Fryderyk Awards – and Paulina Skoczyk.

The first of the mentioned artists is not afraid of experimenting, which he proved while preparing a composition with the use of ... typewriters and sewing machines. This time he "sewed" for EOK Double concerto for saxophone, bandoneon and string orchestra. Elbląg residents will hear the premiere of this piece during the inaugural concert, along with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, and Ernest Bloch.

The premiere of the work by Nikola Kołodziejczyk was co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund under the "Composition Commissions" programme, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance.
