The Warmian-Mazurian Philharmonic invites you on September 7, 2018 at 7.00 p.m. for the concert entitled "Philharmonic Hall – chamber music". The Philharmonic String Orchestra will be conducted by Szymon Stec, and the soloist of the evening will be pianist Łukasz Chrzęszczyk.

The concert will start with Divertimento for string orchestra by Mikołaj Górecki. The composition was written in 2009, and the grand premiere took place on June 12, 2011 in Poznań, featuring the Polish Chamber Orchestra "Amadeus" under the baton of Agnieszka Duczmal. Mikołaj Górecki graduated from composition studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of his father, an outstanding composer Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, who is the author of the second composition of the eveningConcerto for harpsichord (or piano) and string orchestra, Op. 40. The concert was written by H. M. Górecki in 1980 and was dedicated to the outstanding Polish harpsichordist Elżbieta Chojnacka. The premiere with her participation took place on March 2, 1980, with the accompaniment of the string group of the Great Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television in Katowice under the direction of Stanisław Wisłocki. The programme of the concert will be complemented by Shaker Loops by American composer, clarinettist and conductor John Adams and Philip Glass's Symphony No. 3.
