Tychy | 1st Auksodrone Festival

Aukso

One orchestra, one conductor, one venue. Three days, twenty-seven events, endless possibilities. AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy invites you on October 5-7, 2018 to Mediateka for the first edition of the Auksodrone festival.

The first edition of the silesian festival, with its broad programme and selection of invited guests, covers the whole world. This year, nine concerts form three series devoted to contemporary, jazz and electronic music.

The festival will be opened by two works by Zygmunt Krauze: Aus aller Welt stammende and Exodus 2016, never performed before in Poland. For the first time in Poland we will also hear Cleopatra's Songs by Agata Zubel, and on the last day of the festival, the premiere of LA LA LA, the latest work by Aleksander Nowak based on processed voices of children. Each concert from the Contemporary Classical series will be preceded by a short meeting with the composer, which will take place in one of the tents in the Mediateka foyer. Jazz Icons will feature Andrzej Jagodziński Trio, Zbigniew Namysłowski's quintet and UrbSymphony. During the cycle "WARP Recomposed" we will hear electronic music and new interpretations of works by Andrzej Panufnik and Witold Lutosławski.

The concerts will be accompanied by three series of workshops: for the youngest music lovers and for youth and adults – held daily in the Mediateka foyer. In addition, Marcin Staniszewski will present the possibilities of the Experimental Studio of the Polish Radio sample library.
