Częstochowa | 12th Bronislaw Huberman Violin Festival

FC

The 74th artistic season of the Częstochowa Philharmonic begins with the 12th Bronisław Huberman Violin Festival, which will be held on September 22-28, 2018.

The festival, initiated in 1997, is the synthesis and continuation of two Częstochowa festivals: Jeunesses Musicales and Grażyna Bacewicz Violin Festival, and at the same time it promotes Częstochowa as the birthplace of one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century – Bronisław Huberman, founder and patron of the National Philharmonic of Israel. The event includes master recitals, chamber and symphonic concerts. The festival enables the presentation of great works performed by recognized artists and also promotes young talented musicians.

The 12th edition of the festival includes seven diverse concerts. During the inaugural and final evening we will hear world-famous violinists, Shlomo Mintz and Roby Lakatos, who will perform with the Symphony Orchestra of the Częstochowa Philharmonic. On September 24, Aleksandra Szwejkowska will perform Polish violin music by Szymanowski,  Bacewicz, Laks, Kaszuba, Palester, Łuciuk, and Twardowski, promoting the album Pieśń o Ziemi. On September 27, Diverso String Quartet and Huberman Piano Trio will present compositions by Padlewski, Tansman, Chopin (in Huberman's transcription) and Panufnik.
