Wrocław | International Clarinet Festival Clarimania 2018

ClarimaniaOn September 27-29, 2018, the Karol Lipińskiego Academy of Music in Wrocław will host the Clarinet International Festival Clarimania 2018.

Clarimania is one of the largest Polish festivals devoted to wooden wind instruments. Several September days will abound in concerts (every day, at 7.00 pm, Academy of Music Concert Hall, free admission!), master classes, lectures with the most outstanding musicians, and exhibitions.

During the opening gala we will hear works by the New Romantic composers: Beniamin Baczewski, Łukasz Woś, Dawid Pajdzik, and Ales Pavlorka. A special event will be the Polish Day, which programme assumes the presentation of the achievements of the Polish Clarinet School and its most outstanding representatives, with a special focus on the promotion of Polish brass literature – still unknown to a wider audience and not present in the programmes of the concert halls.

On the last day of the festival, Wonkak Kim (South Korea), Riccardo Crocilla (Italy), Maureen Hurd (USA), Nicholas Cox (Great Britain) and Wesley Ferreira (Canada) will perform for the first time in Poland. The festival will be closed by Pierre Genisson, one of the most outstanding clarinettists of the younger generation, who will be accompanied by the Zemlinsky Quartet.
