A concert at the Szczecin Philharmonic on September 28, 2018, with the participation of the winner of the Wieniawski Competition, Soyoung Yoon, will be filled with Polish music.
The event will be held within the second edition of the Meisinger Music Festival. The programme will include Violin concerto No. 1 in F sharp minor, Op. 14 by Henryk Wieniawski, written in 1853 and dedicated to the King of Prussia; Symphony No. 8 by Aleksander Tansman, originally under the title "Musique pour orchestre"; and Chaconne per archi by Krzysztof Penderecki, written after the death of John Paul II in 2005. The Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of Michała Maciaszczyk.
