The most beautiful Polish Christmas carols could be heard on January 5 and 6, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Szczecin churches: St. Nicholas the Bishop Church (Golisza Street) and Garrison Church (Zwycięstwa Square).
Silent Night – a concert of Christmas carols for choir and chamber string orchestra written in 2006 is treated comprehensively as a collection of a dozen or so traditional Polish carols, compiled by the Warsaw composer Maciej Małecki in the original, albeit classic, way. The programme of the concerts will be diversified by three pastorales by Maciej Małecki, two of which are intended for a cappella choir: Dziś z żywota Pańskiego to words of Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski, Niemowlątko na słomie and Prowadź gwiazdeczko to word by Elżbieta Szeptyńska. The choir of the Castle Opera in Szczecin will perform traditional Christmas music along with a string orchestra under the direction of Małgorzata Bornowska.
