The Jury of the 5th Piotr Perkowski Competition for Composers in Toruń, composed of prof. Zbigniew Kozub (chairman), Miłosz Bembinow, Piotr Komorowski, Piotr Dołęgowski and Magdalena Cynk, decided to award the following awards:
- 1st Prize in the amount of PLN 800 for Michał Kulbacki (emblem: AFIB532100) for the piece Tetra a'l Tango
- 2nd Prize in the amount of PLN 500 to Michał Lipski (emblem: Marchewka) for the piece Tango
- 3rd Prize in the amount of PLN 350 to Gabriel Flis (emblem: Marek and Wacek) for the piece Tango
Moreover, the Jury awarded an extra-statutory Special Award to Barbara Zach (emblem: Deux9) for the piece El recuerdo del olvido.
The works awarded in the Competition will be performed during the composers' concert as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Music Schools in Toruń in September 2021.
The organiser of the Competition was the Foundation for Aid and Development of the Music School Complex and the Music School Complex in Toruń. The subject of the competition was to compose a tango for string orchestra and three percussionists.
