On 17-24 August 2021, all those who are impatiently waiting for the new concert season of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, are invited to the concert series "Summer near NOSPR". This year's programme will be dominated by improvised piano music in two completely different versions.
Marcin Świątkiewicz, an excellent harpsichordist and improviser, will perform in the NOSPR amphitheater on 17 August at 7.00 p.m. Although he specialises in baroque repertoire, the artist often participates in various experimental projects and performs contemporary music. During the upcoming concert, the audience will be offered an improvised journey through history: from the Renaissance ostinato and baroque suite, through fantasies, variations and romantic miniatures, to a contemporary improvised music. The second concert on 24 August will be performed by jazz pianist Pola Atmańska, who is involved in numerous artistic projects, creates music for theatre performances and fashion shows.
We will find out the exact programme of the concerts only when the artists sit down at the instrument. This is what the greatest magic of improvised music is all about – it is always new, always up-to-date, and always arises in dialogue with the environment, audience and the atmosphere of a given moment.
