Cracow | 'Polish Music Scene': Julia Kociuban and Messages Quartet

The 20th century Polish music reveals even more undiscovered pieces but even those known to the public require promotion.

Some of those can be heard on the 8 of February 2022 at 7.30 p.m. performed by Julia Kociuban and the Messages Quartet in the Cracow Philharmonic Hall. The concert will be a part of the National Institute’s of Music and Dance own program ‘Polish Music Scene.

Grażyna Bacewicz’s two piano quintets are some of her most popular chamber music pieces. We will be able to listen to them as well as Alexander Tansman’s piano quintet ‘Musica a Cinque’ which world premiere recording was recently made by Julia Kociuban and Messages Quartet.

Bringing the two composers together was intentional as their birthplace is not the only thing they have in common.

Eight concerts are planned as part of the ‘Polish Music Scene’ programme financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage until June 2022 in the Cracow Philharmonic.
