An event commemorating maestro Krzysztof Penderecki with a concert ‘Powiało na mnie morze snów…’ will take place on the 23rd of November, 2022 at 7.00 p.m. in the Grand Theater - National Opera. We will listen to the series of the Master's songs composed to works of Polish poets.
Poetic texts often inspired the work of Krzysztof Penderecki, from the early years of his compositional activity. The crowning achievement of this trend was the composition ‘Powiało na mnie morze snów…’ ‘Songs of Reflection and Nostalgia’, which was written in the Chopin Year (2010).
This song cycle, based on the poems of Cyprian K. Norwid, the poets of Young Poland, Skamander group and Zbigniew Herbert, will be presented by Iwona Sobotka (soprano), Anna Bernacka (mezzo-soprano), Mariusz Godlewski (baritone), the Choir and Orchestra of the Grand Theater - National Opera conducted by Maciej Tworek
