43. Międzynarodowy Festiwal Muzyki Cerkiewnej "Hajnówka”

Patronat medialny nad Festiwalem objęło Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.

FestiwalHajnowka 24Po raz 43. chóry z całego świata zaprezentują się w Polsce na największym festiwalu muzyki cerkiewnej - Międzynarodowym Festiwalu Muzyki Cerkiewnej "Hajnówka”, który odbędzie się w dniach 29 maja - 2 czerwca 2024 roku w Białymstoku. Tegoroczna edycja poświęcona jest pamięci Romualda Twardowskiego, wieloletniego Przewodniczącego Jury festiwalowego. Patronat honorowy nad Festiwalem sprawuje Związek Kompozytorów Polskich.

Festiwal jest pierwszą imprezą na świecie prezentującą muzykę cerkiewną od początku chrześcijaństwa do czasów współczesnych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem muzyki tworzonej przez kompozytorów Rzeczpospolitej. Podczas Festiwalu muzykę cerkiewną wykonają artyści różnych narodowości i wyznań. Udział w nim wezmą: Państwowy Chór Kameralny „Erywania” (Armenia), Męski Zespół „Św. Efram” (Węgry), Kameralny Chór „Sofia” (Ukraina), Chór Duchowieństwa Dubieńskiego Dekanatu Prawosławnej Cerkwi Ukraińskiej (Ukraina), Chór „Concordia” (Wolna Białoruś), Chór „Gloria” Kiszyniowskiej Uczelni Muzycznej (Mołdawia), Państwowy Chór Kameralny “Polifonia” (Litwa), a także polskie zespoły: Polski Chór Kameralny "Schola Cantorum Gedanensis”, Chór Polskiego Radia, Chór Młodzieżowego Domu Kultury w Białymstoku, Chór "Mus Arietes” (Wasrzawa), Męski Kameralny Zespół Śpiewu Cerkiewnego "Partes” (Poznań).

Kłodzko | XXVI Międzynarodowy Kłodzki Konkurs Pianistyczny

KonkursKlodzko 24Patronat medialny nad Konkursem objęło Polskie Centrum Informacji Muzycznej POLMIC.

XXVI Międzynarodowy Kłodzki Konkurs Pianistyczny odbędzie się w dniach 17-18 maja 2024 roku w Kłodzku w dwóch formatach: stacjonarnie oraz online. Wstęp na przesłuchania i koncerty jest wolny.

O ile format stacjonarny utrzymuje dotychczasowe kategorie wiekowe, o tyle konkurs online otwiera się na pianistów bez ograniczeń wiekowych. W tegorocznej edycji weźmie udział łącznie 89 pianistów z 6 krajów: 50 stacjonarnie i 39 w konkursie online.

Przesłuchania konkursowe będą mieć miejsce w Sali Koncertowej PSM I st. im. F. Chopina w Kłodzku, natomiast Koncert Laureatów - w Kłodzkim Ośrodku Kultury. 17 maja o godz. 19:00 w Bazylice Mniejszej Nawiedzenia Najświętszej Maryi Panny w Bardzie odbędzie się koncert specjalny towarzyszący XXVI KKP z udziałem Natalii Wrony – laureatki Grand Prix zeszłorocznego konkursu, Jaime Peñate Conde oraz Jakuba Lojka (jurorów Konkursu), a także znakomitego wrocławskiego pianisty – Gracjana Szymczaka.

Konkurs recenzencki Filharmonii Śląskiej i PWM

KonkursRecenzencki 24Filharmonia Śląska im. Henryka Mikołaja Góreckiego wraz z Polskim Wydawnictwem Muzycznym zapraszają studentów studiów I i II stopnia kierunków Muzykologia oraz Kompozycja i Teoria Muzyki do udziału w konkursie recenzenckim. Jego przedmiotem jest stworzenie recenzji, poświęconej gali urodzinowej Joanny Wnuk-Nazarowej. Termin nadsyłania zgłoszeń upływa 24 maja 2024.

Celem konkursu jest:

  • promocja i wsparcie działalności studentów na polu krytyki muzycznej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem prac poświęconych wykonawstwu utworów kompozytorów polskich tworzących w XX i XXI;
  • rozwijanie zainteresowania studentów kierunków Muzykologia oraz Kompozycja i Teoria Muzyki krytyką muzyczną, w szczególności w zakresie wykonawstwa muzyki polskiej XX i XXI wieku.

Katowice | Birthday gala of Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa

GalaWnuk 28 5 24On the 28th of May 2024, the Silesian Philharmonic will host a birthday gala for Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa with the participation of the birthday celebrant - an outstanding composer, pedagogue, conductor and politician, director of cultural institutions, minister of culture and art in 1997-1999.

At 4.30 p.m. in the Chamber Hall, a screening of the film Under Pressure of Sound and Word is scheduled, followed (5.30 p.m.) by a meeting with Joanna Wnuk-Nazarowa and the premiere of a CD of the composer’s works. At 19.00, a concert by the Silesian Chamber Orchestra will take place in the Karol Stryja Concert Hall, with a programme prepared by the composer.

2nd Festival "Sztuka źle obecna"

The “Muzyka źle obecna” festival - established by the Cultural Events Office of the Institute of National Remembrance - was created with the aim of bringing out the Polish artistic heritage of the difficult post-war years from the archives. We will hear works by Polish composers of the 20th century in Wrocław, Warsaw, Poznań, Słupsk, Lublin and Olsztyn on May 17 - June 23, 2024. Admission to the concerts is free!

The event will be devoted to artists excluded and censored by the communist authorities in Poland. The organizers of the event also include in the programme "artists who decided to emigrate as an act of protest against the communist authorities, but also those trying to create unrestrained art in their homeland despite ideological difficulties."

The inauguration of this year's Festival will take place at the National Forum of Music: NFM Wrocław Philharmonic conducted by Yaroslav Szemet will perform symphonic works by emigrant composers: Andrzej Panufnik, Stanisław Skrowaczewski, Karol Rathaus and Roman Palester.

Take part in the PRO Academy of the Hashtag Ensemble!

AkademiaPRO 24Hashtag Ensemble invites you to take part in the "PRO Academy 2024-2025" project aimed at students and graduates of Polish music academies, as well as professional musicians with no age limit and foreigners living in Poland: violinists, violists, cellists, double bassists, flutists, clarinetists, accordionists, percussionists and conductors. The deadline for applications is the 15th of June 2024 and participation in the PRO Academy is free of charge.

Participation in the PRO Academy includes:

  • a one-year mentorship programme, which will include a minimum of 3 individual classes on contemporary music with a Hashtag Ensemble instrumentalist.
  • a minimum of 1 performance with the Hashtag Ensemble during the 2024-2025 season
  • participation in PRO Academy guest seminars and lectures to expand repertoire and develop skills related to contemporary performance techniques.

Katowice | Open your ears: concert of the New Music Orchestra in NOSPR

"Korvat auki", or "Open your ears", is the name of an artistic association that cares for the dissemination of contemporary music in Finland and a title of the concert of the New Music Orchestra, which specializes in performing and promoting contemporary music. It will present works by artists from Poland, Ukraine, Finland and France on the 19th of May 2024 at 6 p.m. The soloist will be harpsichordist Gośka Isphording.

She will perform the composition 'A l'île de Gorée' by Iannis Xenakis, which today belongs to the iron repertoire of harpsichord music; it was written for perhaps the most famous harpsichordist of the 20th century - Elżbieta Chojnacka.

Winners of the 3rd SAXandVILLAS International Composition Competition announced!

The theme of the 3rd SAXandVILLAS International Composition Competition, organized by Villa Lentz in Poland, Villa la Padula in Italy and Escola Artística Do Conservatório De Música Calouste Gulbenkian, was works for chamber ensembles with saxophone. After careful analysis of the submitted scores, the jury selected three winners: A Pole and two Italians.

First place went to Damian Dziweńka for his piece 'In the name of land', (pseudonym: Naard). 
Second place went to Michele Allegro for his composition 'New York Tales', (pseudonym: Irese90). 
Roberto Maria Cipollina became third for the track 'Apparuit', (alias: YKN22).

Poznań | 53rd International Festival of Contemporary Music "Poznań Music Spring"

PoznanskaWiosna 24During the 53rd International Festival of Contemporary Music "Poznań Music Spring", which will be held at the Poznań Academy of Music on 23-26 May 2024, diverse and stylistically colourful contemporary music will be presented. The festival programme, organized by the Poznań Branch of the Polish Composers' Union and the Music Encounters Foundation, includes 13 world premieres. Admission to all concerts is free!

The festival will be inaugurated by a performance by the Bałaban Family Quartet with guest pianist Krzysztof Sowiński: the artists will premiere works by Ewa Fabiańska-Jelińska, Artur Kroschel, Monika Kędziora and Sławomir Czarnecki.

The concert on the 24th of May, co-organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum, will feature Sophia Goidinger-Koch (violin) and Barbara Riccabona (cello). The "Spring of the Young" concert on the same day will be an opportunity to hear, for the first time, works by students of the composition faculty of the I. J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań: Krystian Klej, Grzegorz Uran and Lidia Wysocka; in addition, we will see the multimedia project 'Soundpainting' performed by students of the class 'New improvisation projects - theory and creative projects', which was created under the supervision of composer Michał Janocha.

5th Night of Choirs in Ruda Śląska

The International Festival of the 5th Night of Choirs will take place in Ruda Śląska on the 25th of May 2024: this music walk will begin at 5 p.m. on Jan Paweł II Square and will end there at 10 p.m.

The aim of this artistic, educational and social event is not to compete, but to present valuable music to a wide audience. This year's edition will be attended by 26 choirs from Poland and 1 Polish community choir from Belarus.

Laureates of the 7th Józef Ciepłucha International Academic Competition for Oboists and Bassoonists in Łódź

Konkurs Ciepluchy 8 5 24On the 8th of May, 2024, the winners of the 7th Józef Ciepłucha International Academic Competition for Oboists and Bassoonists in Łódź were announced. During the final concert, the jury handed out prizes and distinctions, and the winners of the highest awards had the opportunity to present themselves to the audience once again. They were: Aseman Esmaeilzadeh from Iran (1st prize in the oboe category) and Tianyou Li from China (2nd prize in the bassoon category).

5th edition of the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Sanok district!

The 5th edition of the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music, with participation of outstanding artists from Poland and abroad, will take place in the Sanok district on 24-27 May 2024. The Festival will also discover new talents through the 4th National Competition for Young Organists. Admission to the concerts is free.

This year's edition of the Festival will be inaugurated in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Sanok with a concert by Anna Maria Jopek, who will be accompanied by: Piotr Wojtasik (trumpet), Igor Pietraszewski (shakuhachi) and Piotr Rojek (organ). On the 25th of May at the Sanok Franciscan Church, we will hear organist Elżbieta Karolak together with soprano Katarzyna Hołysz.

Konkurs Lutoslawskiego 8 5 24Late in the evening of the 8th of May, after auditions of the participants of the second stage of the 12th Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition jury announced names of the finalists. Concerts with the participation of the best young cellists and the accompanying orchestra conducted by Marek Moś will take place on the 10th and the 11th of May at 7:00 p.m. at the Warsaw Philharmonic. KonkursLutoslawskiego 11 5 24The names of the winners of one of the most prestigious competitions for young cellists under the age of 30 have been announced! Following the final auditions of the 12th Witold Lutosławski International Cello Competition, organized by the National Institute of Music and Dance, 4 main prizes, 2 special regulation prizes and 1 special mention were awarded on the 11th of May 2024. The award gala will also take place at the Warsaw Philharmonic on the 12th of May at 6 p.m. Admission is ticketed.

34th International Music Course in Opole

The 34th International Music Course in Opole will take place from the 31st of July to the 11th of August, 2024. Pupils and students of violin, piano, viola, cello, double bass and chamber ensembles will come to Opole from all over the world to improve their skills and work on the interpretation of prepared pieces. They will also play music and mingle together, creating a wonderfully integrated community with teachers. The deadline for submitting applications is the 24th of June, 2024.

The course participants can be pupils, students and graduates of music schools of all nationalities.

Courses are held in 8 specialties: violin, viola, cello, double bass, piano, historical piano, piano duet, chamber ensemble.
