The Mayor of Katowice, Marcin Krupa, and the Artistic Director of NOSPR, Alexander Liebreich, invite you to the fourth edition of the Katowice Kultura Natura Festival, which will take place between May 11-20, 2018.
As every year, the programme of the Festival is open to all historical epochs and genres, and as each year, world-class musicians will come to Katowice, and they will surely present performances of the highest quality. This year, the theme of the Katowice Culture Nature Festival is "Childhood".
At the Festival, as in the previous editions, chamber music will be performed. On May 14, the festival liederabend will be featured by the world-famous tenor Ian Bostridge. On Tuesday, May 15, the French Quatuor Ebène, who is named among the most important quartets of our times, will perform.
The programme of the Festival will include early music, represented this time by the {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna, whose concert on May 12 will be joined by cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras.
The festival will also include two subscription concerts of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Alexander Liebreich (opening concert on May 11 and Thursday concert on May 17). The second concert of NOSPR will be an opportunity to listen to the now famous Requiem by Tigran Mansurian, which recording made by Alexander Liebreich and subsequent guests of the Ramm Kammerchor Festival, was this year, among others, nominated for the "Grammy" award and was honored with the International Classical Music Awards. Excellent RIAS Kammerchor will perform during the Festival on May 16.
The festival will host the famous Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and its artistic director Lionel Bringuier on two concerts. On May 19, the band will perform Les espaces du sommeil by Witold Lutoslawski; as a soloist, baritone Nathan Berg will perform. During the concert on May 20, the orchestra will be accompanied by one of the best pianists in the world, Leif Ove Andsnes, who will also perform in a solo recital on Friday, May 18.
