Prawykonanie „Chamber Piano Concerto” Agaty Zubel w Niemczech

20 października 2018 roku podczas Donaueschiger Musiktage odbędzie się prawykonanie Chamber Piano Concerto Agaty Zubel.

Rok 2018 jest dla kompozytorki niezwykle intensywny i bardzo udany. Za nami trzy prawykonania jej utworów: Cleopatra’s Songs, Fireworks oraz Bildbeschreibung, także kilka nagród, w tym kolejny już Koryfeusz Muzyki Polskiej. Kompozytorka nie powiedziała jeszcze jednak ostatniego słowa. Przed nami kolejne emocje związane z prezentacja najnowszych dzieł Agaty Zubel. Pierwszej interpretacji jej Chamber Piano Concertodokona Ingfrid Breie Nyhus. Pianistce towarzyszyć będzie Cikada Ensemble pod batutą Christiana Eggena.

Tak Agata Zubel pisze o najnowszym utworze: „Mój koncert fortepianowy nie musi przekraczać granic i jest niewrażliwy na rozmiary. Idea koncertowania realizuje się przez wzmożoną aktywność. Aby sztuka ta się udała, wszyscy wykonawcy muszą być gotowi przekroczyć to, co spodziewane. Publiczność zaczyna słuchać koncertu fortepianowego, a muzycy zaczynają grać koncert fortepianowy. Ale nie ma orkiestry, a pianista wykonuje partię rozpisaną na dwa instrumenty. Mimo to, od początku pracy aż po ostatnią nutę nie miałam wątpliwości, że jest to Chamber Piano Concerto na fortepian i zespół instrumentalny”.

Chińskie tournée Sinfonii Varsovii

Anne-Sophie Mutter, Krzysztof Penderecki, Maciej Tworek i Sinfonia Varsovia wyruszają w dwutygodniową trasę koncertową do Chin, która odbędzie się w dniach 17–31 października 2018 roku. Świętujący 85. urodziny kompozytor poprowadzi 6 koncertów, podczas których Anne-Sophie Mutter, uznawana za jedną z najlepszych skrzypaczek na świecie, wykona dedykowany jej II Koncert skrzypcowy „Metamorfozy”.

Krzysztof Penderecki rozpoczyna swoją urodzinową trasę koncertową po Chinach w towarzystwie muzyków Sinfonii Varsovii, Macieja Tworka oraz Anne-Sophie Mutter. Artyści wystąpią wspólnie w 6 miastach z repertuarem złożonym z VII Symfonii d-moll op. 70 Antonína Dvořáka oraz dwóch dzieł, które Penderecki skomponował specjalnie dla niemieckiej skrzypaczki. La Follia na skrzypce solo powstała jako prezent urodzinowy dla Mutter, która prawykonała utwór w Carnegie Hall w 2013 roku. Ich dotychczasowa współpraca zaowocowała powstaniem czterech utworów, w tym dedykowanego Mutter II Koncertu skrzypcowego „Metamorfozy”.

Tournée zapoczątkuje koncert w National Centre For the Performing Arts w Pekinie. Następnie muzycy odwiedzą Zhengzhou, Szanghaj, gdzie wystąpią w ramach prestiżowego China Shanghai International Arts Festival, a także w Changsha, Xiamen i Zhuhai. Dopełnieniem trasy będą dwa koncerty Sinfonii Varsovii pod batutą Macieja Tworka. W Wuhan i Zhohou zabrzmią dzieła Ludwiga van Beethovena i Antonína Dvořáka, a także I Koncert skrzypcowy Pendereckiego, w którym partię solową wykona tajwański skrzypek Benny Tseng. Współorganizowana przez Instytut Adama Mickiewicza chińska trasa koncertowa jest również elementem obchodów setnej rocznicy odzyskanie przez Polskę Niepodległości. Sfinansowano ze środków MKiDN w ramach Programu Wieloletniego NIEPODLEGŁA na lata 2017-2021.

Dzień muzyki polskiej w Bańskiej Bystrzycy

Artyści, naukowcy i pedagodzy, prowadzący klasy solowe i zespoły kameralne w Akademii Muzycznej w Łodzi będą wykonawcami koncertów „Dnia muzyki polskiej” w Bańskiej Bystrzycy na Słowacji. Koncerty odbędą się 16 października 2018 roku w Sali Koncertowej Wydziału Sztuk Dramatycznych Akademii Sztuki w Bańskiej Bystrzycy (Słowacja), przy ul. Jana Kollara 22.

Podczas pierwszego koncertu „World Premieres” wystąpią soliści i zespoły kameralne. Prezentować będą po raz pierwszy utwory skomponowane przez uznanych łódzkich twórców: Olgę Hans, Krzysztofa Grzeszczaka i Jakuba Kowalewskiego, a także młodych kompozytorów: Marcina Wernera, Piotra Wróbla i Michała Grabowskiego. Podczas koncertu zabrzmią również kompozycje Agaty Barbary Jareckiej, Janusza Kopczyńskiego, Doroty Brolik-Bekrycht i Łukasza Wójcickiego – instrumentalistów, działających z sukcesami w łódzkim środowisku muzycznym. Na scenie pojawią się soliści grający na altówce, flecie, oboju, fortepianie, saksofonie oraz na tubie. Wystąpią także duety, tria i kwartety smyczkowe, złożone z instrumentalistów związanych z Akademią Muzyczną w Łodzi.

Drugi koncert w wykonaniu pedagogów łódzkiej Akademii również zawierać będzie premierowy program. Po raz pierwszy zostanie zaprezentowanych osiem utworów przeznaczonych dla solisty z towarzyszeniem orkiestry, skomponowanych przez: Olgę Hans, Marcina Wernera, Tomasza Bartoszka, Piotra Wróbla, Bogdana Dowlasza i Leszka Kołodziejskiego. Solistom towarzyszyć będzie Polish Modern Orchestra pod dyrekcją Krzysztofa Kamińskiego. Zespół powstał w 2017 roku i tworzą go artyści na stałe współpracujący ze współczesnymi kompozytorami. Utwory, które będą prezentowane podczas koncertu zostały napisane z myślą o konkretnych wykonawcach i im dedykowane.

Inicjatorem przedsięwzięcia jest dr hab. Sławomir Cichor, a opiekę artystyczną nad projektem sprawuje dr hab. Ewelina Zawiślak, kierownik Katedry Instrumentów Dętych Akademii Muzycznej w Łodzi.

MET's "Samson et Dalila" with z Elīna Garanča and Roberto Alagna in cinemas on 20th October

The new staging of Camille Saint-Saëns' opera Samson et Dalila opened in September 2018-19 in The Metropolitan Opera. On October 20th it will be screened in cinemas around the world in the broadcast series "The Met: Live in HD". The transmission at the Warsaw Cinema "Praha" will take place at 6:35 pm.

When mezzo-soprano Elīna Garanča and tenor Roberto Alagna joined forces for a new production of Carmen at the Met, the results were electrifying. Now this star duo reunites for another sensual French opera when they open the season in the title roles of Saint-Saëns’s biblical epic Samson et Dalila. Darko Tresnjak, who won a Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical in 2014 for A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, makes his Met debut directing a vivid, seductive staging, featuring a monumental setting for the last-act Temple of Dagon, where the hero crushes his Philistine enemies. Sir Mark Elder conducts the first new Met production of the work in 20 years.

Camille Saint-Saëns (1835–1921) was a leading figure of the French musical world throughout his life, successful as an organist, pianist, conductor, and prominent music commentator in addition to his work as a composer. Ferdinand Lemaire (1832–1879), a poet who married a cousin of Saint-Saëns’s and who made his most lasting impression with this work, contributed the libretto. The score of this opera teems over with color and dramatic aptitude and is a worthy compendium of Saint-Saëns’s diversified genius. Portions of the opera, including Dalila’s seduction aria “Mon coeur s’ouvre à ta voix” and the extraordinary ballet sequence in the final scene—the Bacchanale—are known well beyond the opera house. Throughout the work, the score brilliantly animates all the powerful and diverse colors in the iconic story, from the lurid to the exotic, the crass, the sensual, and even the sublimely spiritual.

Poznań | Malta Charity Concert

On October 19, 2018 at 7.00 pm, the Adam Mickiewicz University Auditorium will host a Malta Charity Concert entitled "Little Spring in Autumn".

Szymon Nehring, winner of the Artur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv in 2017, is the only Pole who received the first prize in this one of the most important piano competitions in the world. In 2015, as the only Pole, he was among the finalists of the 17th Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, where he received a distinction, an audience award and many additional prizes

During the fall concert we will hear the sounds of spring in the Spring suite by Claude Debussy. The repertoire will also cover Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 17 by Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Overture "Zur Namensfeier" by Ludwig van Beethoven, dedicated to prince Antoni Radziwiłł, and Krzesany by Wojciech Kilar. The Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra will be led by Marek Pijarowski.

Kraków | Symphonic concert

Symphonic concert at the Krakow Philharmonic on October 19, 2018 at 7:30 pm will feature Double Concerto for Two Flutes and Orchestra by Paweł Mykietyn.

Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Charles Olivieri-Munroe. Flutists Łukasz Długosz and Agata Kielar-Długosz will perform as soloists. The programme will include: Ludwig van Beethoven – Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60, Paweł Mykietyn – Double Concerto for Two Flutes and Orchestra, Daniel Schnyder – Concerto for Chamber Orchestra.

Vivat Orkiestra! 70 years of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra

A concert on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Symphony Orchestra of the Szczecin Philharmonic will take place on October 19, 2018 at 7.00 p.m.

The largest instrument in the world – symphony orchestra. Co-created by people is also the most difficult instrument to build and maintain in good condition. And yet, thanks to commitment and passion, it can last even more than seventy years.

On the occasion of its birthday, the Symphony Orchestra of the Szczecin Philharmonic will perform a programme filled with compositions representing a variety of orchestral possibilities. During the evening we will hear Eternal Songs symphonic poem, Op. 10 by Mieczysław Karłowicz and music from The Rite of Spring ballet by Igor Stravinsky. The icing on the birthday cake will be the world premiere of the new work written especially for the Orchestra by Quincy Jones – trumpet player, composer, arranger, producer originating from jazz, but balancing between various musical styles.

Warsaw | Musicians for Independent

On the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence, a project about outstanding Polish musicians to whom we owe the preservation of national identity in the period of more than a century of captivity was devoloped. Some of the musicians have gained world recognition, others are known only among compatriots, some have been forgotten. The project "Musicians for Independence" is devoted to these often unknown heroes of the Polish road to freedom.

A presentation of the book containing biographies of selected artists, with particular emphasis on their patriotic activities and the role they played on the Polish way to independence, will take place on October 15, 2018 at 12 p.m. during the official inauguration of the project in the former building of the University of Warsaw Library. The opening of the exhibition which presents the characters of the book will take place on afterwards. The exhibition will be held for two weeks.

On October 20 at 6 p.m. in the Royal Castle in Warsaw, there will be a concert featuring Agnieszka Kozłowska (soprano), Dorota Lachowicz (mezzo-soprano), Krzysztof Kur (tenor), Witold Żołądkiewicz (baritone), Ewa Pelwecka (piano), Warsaw Opera Quartet, and mediaChoir under the direction of Łukasz Hermanowicz. The programme will include vocal and vocal-instrumental pieces by Fryderyk Chopin, Karol Kurpiński, Ignacy Jan Paderewski, Stanisław Moniuszko, Władysław Żeleński, Michał Kleofas Ogiński, and Feliks Nowowiejski.

The event takes place under the Honorary Patronage of the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, prof. Piotr Gliński. The project was implemented by the "Rodzice Szkole" Foundation, the Institute of Music and Dance, the Museum of Polish History and the Central Archives of Modern Records.

Warsaw | FCUM Graduates in the "Wednesday on Okólnik Street" cycle

On October 17, 2018 at 7 p.m., as part of the regular concerts of the artistic season of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music entitled "Wednesday on Okólnik Street", there will be a symphonic concert "Our graduates", which will feature a premiere of the new work by Nikola Kołodziejczyk.

The concert will start with Karol Szymanowski's Etude in B flat minor – the third of the early piano series Four etudes, Op. 4, arranged for the orchestra by Grzegorz Fitelberg. Next, the FCUM Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk will present the Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 68 by Johannes Brahms and the premiere of the accordion concerto Olgino by Nikola Kołodziejczyk – composer, arranger, conductor, pianist, winner of two "Fryderyk" awards. The work will be performed by Rafał Grząka, graduate of the FCUM, student of prof. zw. dr hab. Klaudiusz Baran, rector of the same university. The concert by Nikola Kołodziejczyk was commissioned by the Accordionists Association as part of the "Collections" programme – "Composing Commissions" priority, operated by the Institute of Music and Dance.
