Marcin Wróbel,

clarinettist; b. 27th August 1977 in Wrocław. He began learning to play the clarinet at the age of 10 at the Grażyna Bacewicz State Primary Music School in Wrocław, and continued his education with Józef Koziel at the Karol Szymanowski State Secondary Music School in Wrocław in th. In 2002 he graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where he studied with Mieczysław Stachura.

During his studies he took part in master classes conducted by Sabine Meyer and her husband Reiner Wehle (1999) as well as Guy Deplus (2000). In 2002 he was on a scholarship at the Conservatorium Saxion Hogeschool Enschede in the Netherlands, where he studied with Peter Marc Dijcks.

He has won numerous awards and honourable mentions at the national and international competitions, including the 5th place at the National Competition of Wind Instruments in Szczecinek (1991), the 1st place at the Regional Competition of Wind Instruments in Oława (1992), the 3rd place at the National Competition for Wind Instruments in Olsztyn (1996), the 2nd place at the International Chamber Ensembles Competition in Przemyśl (1998), the 1st place at the International Chamber Ensembles Competition in Viareggio, Italy (1999), and the 3rd place at the National Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski (1999).

In 1996 he performed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major with the Wrocław Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. He was a member of the International Youth Orchestras, including in Wangen im Allgau and in Bayreuth, Germany. Since 2004 he was a soloist of the Wrocław Opera Orchestra and a member of the Brass Quintet of the Wrocław Opera.

Currently, he is involved in educational activities. He teaches clarinet at the Karol Szymanowski General Primary and Secondary Music School in Wrocław and at the Ludomir Różycki State Primary Music School in Świdnica.
