From the 9th of November, 2022, applications can be submitted for the next edition of one of the most important music projects of the National Institute of Music and Dance - the 3rd International Competition of Polish Music. The deadline for applications for pianists and chamber ensembles is the 15th of February, 2023. The prize pool of this year’s edition is EUR 100,000.
The International Competition of Polish Music promotes Polish music of the 19th and 20th century. The third edition of the event will take place from 2 to 9 July 2023 at the Artur Malawski Philharmonic in Rzeszów.
The aim of the competition is to promote talented musicians who decide to include in their repertoire lesser-known works by Polish composers, especially works less frequently present in the repertoire of Polish and foreign artists.
Six main prizes will be awarded in each category. In 2023, the prize of 1,000 euros will be awarded to a performance of a work by one of the following composers: in the Pianists category - Antoni Stolpe, Eugeniusz Pankiewicz (125th eath anniversary), Raul Koczalski (75th death anniversary), and in the chamber ensembles category - also by Antoni Stolpe, Witold Maliszewski (150th birthday anniversary) and Antoni Szałowski (50th death anniversary).
Special non-statutory prizes will also be awarded in the Competition, including in the form of concerts in philharmonic, cultural and artistic institutions, as well as media, financial and material prizes.
