On the 6th of November, 2022, the 12th International I. J. Paderewski Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz will begin and will last until the 20th of November. The Ukrainian pianist Antoni Baryszewski, who will play with the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mykola Diadiura, will be the soloist of the inaugurating concert. The musicians will perform Karol Szymanowski's Symphony No. 4 ‘Concertante’ and the Carpathian Concerto by Myroslaw Skoryk.
The Competition is organized by the I. J. Paderewski Music Society in cooperation with the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music. and the Pomeranian Philharmonic I. J. Paderewski. The aim of the Competition is to honor the memory of Ignacy Jan Paderewski, an outstanding pianist, composer and politician, and to promote young pianists and Polish culture around the world.
The Honorary Patronage of the Competition was assumed by the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
