Founder and manager of the Ensemble Peregrina based in Basel, twice nominated for "Polityka" Passports Awards. Vocalist, harpist and musicologist who knows all secrets of early music. Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett will be the guest of the next, eighth broadcast from the series "House Party with Dwójka". The concert from her home in Switzerland will be held at 7 p.m. on 6 June 2020.

Every weekend, Polish Radio Channel 2 (Dwójka) invites you to concerts taking place in the homes of artists who want to share their music with listeners and Internet users in these difficult times of isolation. This Saturday, Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett will perform with Elizabeth Rumsey – an instrumentalist who specializes in performing 15th- and 16th-century music.

Their concert programme will include medieval and Renaissance motets, psalms and songs, some in instrumental versions, as well as works by composers of the turn of the 20th century – Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Karol Szymanowski. During the concert, you'll be able to hear several historical instruments, such as the gothic harp, viola d'arco and lirone. There will be also a surprise for listeners – Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett, who is also a pianist by education, will play the piano in public for the first time since graduation.

The Castle Opera in Szczecin invites you on 6 June 2020 to the online premiere of the ballet The Song of the Earth with music by Roman Palester and choreography by Paolo Mangioli.

The Song of the Earth was performed in 2019 by the Castle Opera group under the musical direction of Jerzy Wołosiuk during the "Polish Ballet Evening". Commissioned by the World’s Fair in Paris for the Polish Ballet, The Song of the Earth is one of Palester’s last folklore-inspired works. The ballet libretto was developed by the composer himself from Leon Schiller’s idea. The work consists of three scenes preceded by an orchestral introduction. They depict successively Midsummer Day, Wedding and Harvest Festival. Palester’s vivid music was highly appreciated at the World’s Fair and awarded with a gold medal. A French reviewer wrote: "Palester’s composition is superb, with its nervous dance-like rhythm, colourful and skilful orchestration, full of poetry".

The choreography for the Szczecin performance is the work of Italian artist Paolo Mangioli, director of the national ballet in Malta. The surprising choreography comes along with costumes and stage design straight from the Matrix. Paolo Mangioli did not follow the work's plot in his dance composition. Instead, he presented the complex relationship between modern man and digital world.

The Planetarium of the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw invites you to an extraordinary journey into the world of music and constellations. Next "Starry Night Concert" will take place online on 5 June 2020 at 7:00 p.m. and its guest will be Marcin Łukaszewski.

Each concert is a unique combination of live music and space visualizations displayed in the Planetarium. We will visit stars, planets and other celestial bodies, exploring distant corners of the Universe. It is both an artistic experience and a reflection on our place in the Universe. The concerts are carried out as part of the #Kopernikontheweb project: Festival of Change and Starry Night Concerts. The project was co-financed by the National Centre for Culture as part of the "Culture on the web"programme.

Marcin Tadeusz Łukaszewski is a pianist, composer, and music theorist associated with the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. He studied piano under Bronisława Kawalla, Jan Ekier, and Edward Wolanin. He also completed a postgraduate course in contemporary music performance, music theory, and composing. In 2005, he obtained his PhD, and in 2014, a post-doctoral degree in music theory and composing. As a pianist, he specialises in 20th and 21st-century Polish music. He is a winner of numerous composition competitions, and an author of various publications on music of such Polish composers as Franciszek Lessel, Piotr Perkowski and Marian Sawa. During the upcoming concert he will perform works by, among others,  Fryderyk Chopin, Stanisław Moniuszko, Karol Szymanowski, Marian Sawa, and Marian Borkowski.

The voting for this year's "Historical Event of the Year", organized by the Polish History Museum in cooperation with the portal https://historia.org.pl/ and the Royal Łazienki Museum, has began! You can vote for the projects selected by the jury from 1 to 30 June 2020.

The aim of the plebiscite is to honour the organizers, creators and initiators of the most interesting historical events of the past year promoting the history and culture of Poland in the country and abroad. The plebiscite consists of two stages. In the first stage, the jury, consisting of representatives of the organizers and people of science and culture, selects five projects in each of the categories: 'Exhibition', 'Event' and 'Education and multimedia'. The final decision is made by internet users in the second stage of the plebiscite by open voting. The announcement of this year's results and the award gala will take place in September.

In the 'Education and multimedia' category, one can vote for 100 for 100 box (PWM Edition), which is an exclusive set documenting the last 100 years of Polish music. 1700 Polish artists got involved in the preparation of this unique publication, completing 61 recordings of the most important music works of the last century. In the 'Event' category, the opening of the Princes Czartoryski Museum, which featured recitals of Szymon Nehring, Krzysztof Książek and Piotr Orzechowski, 'Pianohooligan', has a chance to receive the title of "Historical Event of the Year 2019".

It will be a unique ending of a very unusual concert season. In June 2020, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra returns to playing concerts, although in the upcoming weeks the musicians will play for an empty hall. The audience will be able to participate in concerts via the Internet.

The pandemic, which deprived the orchestra of the opportunity to meet with an audience for many weeks, prompted the PNRSO to redefine many aspects of its concert tradition. The orchestra musicians will start performing on stage with the required distance.

In addition to classical and chamber repertoire, June will see the premiere of a four-part audiovisual work commissioned by the institution from composer Piotr Peszat and video artist Grzegorz Marta. Empty City Radio was created during the total lockdown of the institution and is an artistic testimony of this extraordinary period.

All online concerts will be available for free, although there will be a possibility of supporting the institution through donations.
