Lublin | ‘Strong together - we serve the homeland and society'

MocniRazem 18.8.23The August outdoor concert of the Lublin Philharmonic ‘Strong together - we serve the homeland and society’ will take place in the Saxon Garden on the 19th of August, 2023 at 19.00. The Lublin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform conducted by Krzesimir Dębski, while the Military Orchestra from Lublin will be conducted by Lt. Paweł Kołodziej. The unique concert will be accompanied by a military picnic on the theater square in front of the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin. Free entrance!

In the first part of the concert we will hear well-known works of classical music, referring to the glory of the Polish army, in the second - the most beautiful pieces by Krzesimir Dębski.

1st edition of the 'Muziko De Nia Tempo' Festival in Podlasie

MuzikoDeNia 23On August 18-27, 2023, the Armonia dell'arte Foundation is organizing a unique Festival ‘Muziko De Nia Tempo’ - or ‘Music of our time’ in Esperanto. The first edition of the festival will take us to the extraordinary world of many cultures, religions and languages ​​that have coexisted in Podlasie for centuries. The concerts will be enriched with an audiovisual layer using AI, implemented by the Interference Visual Crew, and creative lighting.

Through a variety of concert programmes inspired by the integration of representatives of different cultures, ‘Muziko De Nia Tempo’ will bring Ludwik Zamenhof's dreams to life. We will hear contemporary music, both avant-garde and more classical.

Warsaw | Composition workshops as part of the 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Warsaw Autumn’

Composition workshops as part of the 66th International Festival of Contemporary Music ‘Warsaw Autumn’ will be led by Yannis Kyriakides, Sky Macklay, Bernhard Lang, Marko Ciciliani and Bára Gísladóttir. The events will take place at the Austrian Cultural Forum in Warsaw, Próżna street 7/9. Participation in the workshops is free. The deadline for submitting applications is the 31st of August, 2023.

The programme of the event which will take place on September 17-22, 2023 also includes meetings with such composers and teachers as Fozie Majd, Yannis Kyriakides, Chaya Czernowin, Sky Macklay, Krzysztof Knittel, Bernhard Lang, Simon Loeffler, Marko Ciciliani, Hans van Koolwijk, Pawel Romańczuk, Bára Gísladottir.

The event is organized by the Youth Circle of the Polish Composers' Union.

Aleksandra Świgut - first receiver of the VeloTalent scholarship programme

VeloBank is launching a pilot of the VeloTalent programme, the aim of which is to support exceptional personalities from the world of culture, science and sport in the development of their careers.

The project inaugurates the patronage of a music publishing house with the participation of Aleksandra Świgut, one of the most interesting Polish pianists. The artist, in addition to help in recording and releasing the album, will also receive support, among other forms in creating a personal brand in social media and will gain knowledge in the field of financial management. Other participants of the VeloTalent programme will be able to receive similar assistance.

Cracow | ‘Artists in Tribute to Independent Poland’

As part of the new project of the Arte Musica Association ‘Artists in Tribute to Independent Poland’, there will be three concerts related to an important date in Polish history: August 15, 2023 - on the occasion of the anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw and the Polish Army Day, on the 1st of September - a concert commemorating the outbreak of World War II II, and on the 11th of November - a concert celebrating the anniversary of Regaining Independence will take place. Recognized Polish artists will perform at the historic headquarters of the 6th Airborne Brigade Club in Cracow. Admission to all events is free.

Warsaw | 19th International Music Festival ‘Chopin and his Europe’

In the programme of the 19th International Music Festival ‘Chopin and his Europe’, which will take place in Warsaw on August 18 - September 1, 2023, we will, as usual, hear works by Fryderyk Chopin and his contemporary artists, as well as works by European composers of the 20th century inspired by the music of the Polish genius.

Outstanding, but also controversial artists will perform: Ivo Pogorelić, Yulianna Avdeeva, Bruce Liu, Dang Thai Son, Vadym Kholodenko, Kate Liu, Alena Baeva, Lukas Geniušas and many others.

Warsaw | 2nd Mokotów International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music Festival

MokotowskiFestiwal 23The 2nd Mokotów International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music will take place on August 13-27, 2023 at the National Sanctuary of St. Andrzej Bobola. The programme of the three concerts includes a wide range of musical literature - vocal and instrumental, from the early Baroque to contemporary music. Admission to the events is free.

This year's edition will open with a concert featuring the winner of the 48th and 50th Fryderyk Chopin Piano Compettion in Warsaw, semi-finalist of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition - Piotr Alexewicz, who will perform a selection of Chopin's Preludes Op. 28 and Waltzes Op. 64. The artistic director of the Festival, organist Sebastian Kuczyński, will present contemporary Polish organ music.

In the interpretation of Dariusz Wójcik, the director of the Open Theater in Gdańsk, we will hear not only Polish vocal lyrics, but also poems by Stefan Wyszyński and fragments of Karol Wojtyła's poem Mother.

Kodeń | Premiere of Rafał Janiak's 'Symphony of Peace and Reconciliation'

SymfoniaPokoju 13.8.23On the 13th of August, 2023 at 17.00 at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Kodeń, Queen of Podlasie - Mother of Unity in Kodeń, a concert on the 300th anniversary of the coronation of the image of Our Lady of Kodeń with papal crowns will take place.

During the concert, the Symphony Orchestra of the Lublin Philharmonic, the Choir of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Children and Youth Choir of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic and soloists will perform Rafał Janiak's Symphony of Peace and Reconciliation for the first time. The work was created on the occasion of this celebration and will be conducted by the composer himself.

Zielona Góra | 7th CORNO – Brass Music Festival

The 7th CORNO Brass Music Festival - the only festival of this type in Poland - will take place on August 14-19, 2023, as always in Zielona Góra. During six classical and jazz concerts, brass instruments will again play the main role: French horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba. We will also hear the Zielona Góra Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dizzy Boyz Brass Band and the Chilean-Colombian band Los Pitutos.
