The 1st Józef Elsner Polish Music Competition is a new initiative of the Opole Philharmonic, organized in cooperation with the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School (Primary and Secondary) in Opole and the Opole University of Technology. The competition will take place in Opole from 24 to 30 January 2026. Applications, along with the required documents, must be submitted by 17 December 2025.
The organizers invite:
- Violinists studying in public music schools and music academies, as well as their graduates.
- Violinists studying in non-public schools and individuals who are self-taught.
Participants will compete in five age groups.
The total pool of financial and material prizes amounts to 30,000 PLN. A special “AI Juror” Award will also be granted, along with additional non-regulated prizes funded by private individuals and institutions. The laureates will also receive opportunities for concert performances.
In-person auditions will take place at the Józef Elsner Opole Philharmonic (24 Krakowska Street) and at the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School in Opole (18 Strzelców Bytomskich Street). Participants in the younger age groups may take part in the competition online.
The finals of Group V will be held with the accompaniment of the Opole Philharmonic Orchestra.
The competition will conclude with the Winners’ Concert on 30 January 2026.
