3. Game Music Fest

III Game Music Fest – an interdisciplinary festival of video game music that attracts not only gaming enthusiasts but also lovers of art and technology each year – will take place in Katowice from April 24 to 26, 2025. The festival, organized by the Silesian Philharmonic, will feature a discussion panel, exhibitions, and three concerts.

The topic of the panel "Game Music Discussion" (with the possibility to ask questions online) will be the implementation of music and sound in games. Participants will include composers Adrian Robak and Agnieszka Rumińska, sound designer Konrad Belina-Brzozowski, and Krzysztof Słowikowski, a graduate of the “Music in Multimedia” program. The discussion will be moderated by Tomasz Bonikowski – harpsichordist, organist, and composer, who also conducts research on the interpretation of music in video games.

The exhibition "Augmented Reality" will present works created using Augmented Reality technology by students of the Game and Virtual Space Design program, developed during classes led by Dr. habil. Kaja Renkas, Professor at the University of Silesia. Meanwhile, the technology zone at the Silesian Philharmonic will showcase projects by students from the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics, and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology.

On April 24, the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Radosław Droń, will transport the audience into the world of the greatest film and gaming hits. From the magic of Hogwarts, through epic battles and adventurous escapades, to iconic themes from legendary games.

On April 25, guitarist Adam Bul will perform his arrangement of the Blade Runner soundtrack, accompanied by breathtaking visuals created by Grzegorz Przybyła, projected on a 23-meter screen at the Planetarium – Silesian Science Park. The experience will be enhanced by spectacular multimedia effects and beautiful choreography, transporting the audience into a virtual world of emotions, full of epic battles and heartfelt moments.
