From July 13–18, 2025, the 3rd edition of the International Piano Masterclasses “Spaces of Culture” will take place at the Ludomir Różycki State Music School Complex in Kielce. The program includes individual lessons, lectures, workshops, and a series of concerts accompanying the course. Admission to all concerts is free!
The main goal of the project is to create a space for dialogue, inspiration, and artistic growth for young aspiring pianists. This year, the course instructors will include distinguished professors from music institutions in Poland, Germany, and the United States: Tamas Ungar, Hubert Rutkowski, Agata Nowakowska-Gumiela, and Bartłomiej Kominek.
A workshop titled “Play Without Sheet Music: Improvisation – not just a gift, but a skill” will be led by Dr. Marta Mołodyńska-Wheeler – pianist, composer, and lecturer at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow.
The lecture “Polish Hollywood – the film music of Polish composers associated with Los Angeles” will be delivered by Dr. Andrzej Ślązak, Professor at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (UJK).
A special treat for all music lovers will be two recitals by outstanding Polish artists, organized as part of the “Contexts of Pianism” concert series:
- Pianist Jakub Kuszlik, winner of 4th Prize at the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (July 13, ZPSM, 6:00 PM),
- Cellist Tomasz Strahl, Rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, accompanied by pianist Łukasz Chrzęszczyk (July 15, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, 6:00 PM).
On July 16 at 4:30 PM, the “Young Pianists’ Stage” concert will take place at Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Manor in Oblęgorek. The final participants’ concert will be held on July 18 at 5:00 PM at the ZPSM.
