4th International Festival in Honor of Prof. Marek Jasiński "Soni Spatium"

The 4th International Festival in Honor of Prof. Marek Jasiński "Soni Spatium" will take place in Stargard and Szczecin from September 13 to October 2, 2024. The music of the renowned composer, born in Stargard, will be performed by Polish and Slovak artists at the Collegiate Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which boasts the highest vault among churches in Poland. The program will feature two world premieres! Admission is free!

The festival will be inaugurated with a performance by the Omnia Choir from Slovakia, conducted by Monika Bažíková, who will present Slovak choral music from various eras.

On September 14, we will hear the Belcanto Children’s Choir, conducted by Katarzyna Ganczarska, and the Academic Choir of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, accompanied by a wind ensemble led by Szymon Wyrzykowski. Soloists will include percussionist Tomasz Andrzejewski and organist Tomasz Witkowski. The artists will perform works by the festival's patron, which are deeply infused with philosophical reflections and the search for the truths of life and faith. The program will include Domini est Terra for mixed choir, children's choir, wind instruments, and timpani; Psalmodia for organ; and Fantasy and Fugue for organ. Additionally, they will present the world premiere of his Fantasy in B minor.

The concert on September 15 will be entirely dedicated to Polish music, performed by dozens of Polish and Slovak artists. The Omnia Choir, the Academic Choir of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, and the Camerata Stargard Orchestra, conducted by Szymon Wyrzykowski, will perform Marek Jasiński's Miserere mei Deus and Beatus vir, as well as O piękności niestworzona by Marek Nowakowski. The audience will also witness the world premiere of Maestro Szymon Wyrzykowski's Sinfonietta. Damian Giczewski (baritone) will perform as a soloist.

The festival's "Postlusium," a scientific conference dedicated to Marek Jasiński's works, will take place on October 2 at the Willa Lentza in Szczecin.

The festival is funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the "Music" program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance. The event is co-financed by the Municipality of Stargard and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
