Composition Competition "Piesomen Antropon" 2025

The I.J. Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic announces a Composition Competition for a symphonic work inspired by Jerzy Krechowicz's tapestry Piesomen Antropon (Let's Make a Man) "Ceta", in the collection of the Pomeranian Philharmonic. The competition is addressed to professional composers born before April 10, 1999. The deadline for submitting scores is April 1, 2025.

The subject of the competition is a work for symphony orchestra in a composition of no more than: 3333|4331|tmp|hp|pf|str. Instruments such as gran cassa, tubular bells, cymbals, vibraphone, bells, piano or harpsichord or celesta or organ may also be included in the composition. The use of electronic instruments and amplification is not allowed. A reciting voice is permitted. Duration of the composition: from 10 to 15 minutes.

Only works that have not been previously published, recorded or awarded in other composition competitions may be submitted to the competition. One participant may submit one work to the competition. Works must not be signed with a name or in a way that may suggest the identity of their author. This also applies to the sender's email address.

The Jury consists of: Joanna Wnuk-Nazarova, Piotr Moss and Mykola Diadiura.

The organizer expects to award the following prizes:

Main prize - PLN 15,000

Two honorable mentions

The highest awarded composition will be performed at concerts selected by the Organizer with the participation of the Pomeranian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
