As part of the 4th Mokotów International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music, four concerts will take place from July 13 to 20, 2025, at the National Sanctuary of St. Andrew Bobola in Warsaw (61 Rakowiecka Street). Admission to the events is free!
On July 13, we will hear the Katowice-based group Marimbazzi Duo, formed by virtuoso percussionists Jakub Kołodziejczyk and Paweł Dyyak. They will perform primarily their own compositions as well as transcriptions of an organ piece — the B minor Concerto by J. G. Walther.
On July 15, in the lower church, Japanese artist Nene Yamagishi will play a Bechstein piano. The program includes works by Fryderyk Chopin, beloved by audiences.
On July 17, also in the lower church, Polish songs from the interwar period will be performed. The performers will be Jakub Gawrysiak — pianist, organist, and singer — and violinist Maciej Afanasjew, who specializes in jazz music. In his arrangement, we will hear works by, among others, Henryk Wars, Szymon Kataszek, Zygmunt Białostocki, and Zygmunt Lewandowski.
The final concert, also in the lower church on July 20, will be performed by the Duo for 149 Keys: Michał Kopyciński (fisharmonia) and Tomasz Jeleniewski (piano). Both solo pieces for these instruments, as well as compositions and transcriptions for this duo, will be played. Michał Kopyciński will perform on a private, beautifully sounding Mustela instrument!
The project was financed by the Mokotów District Office of the Capital City of Warsaw.
The festival is held under the honorary patronage of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw, Adrian Galbas.
