The proceedings of the 54th Musicological Conference of the Polish Composers’ Union (ZKP), under the theme "Music, Memory, History", will take place on 13–15 November 2025 at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. The conference will accompany the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Polish Composers’ Union, focusing on various forms of musical memory and the transformation of the Western European historiographical paradigm in music.
Plenary lectures will be delivered by Prof. Stephen Downes (Royal Holloway, University of London) and Prof. Andrzej Pieńkos (University of Warsaw). The program will also include two thematic panels: a presentation of the DAINA 3 research project on music in the context of migration and diasporic identities, and a discussion on interpersonal relations in field research analyzed through the lens of archival materials.
During the opening ceremony, in keeping with tradition, diplomas will be awarded to the winners of the 2024 Rev. Professor Hieronim Feicht Prize, and “Gloria Artis – Medal for Merit to Culture” decorations will be presented.
