From November 29 to December 2, 2024, the 6th edition of the competition of competitions – “Grand Prix of Polish Choral Music in Honor of Stefan Stuligrosz” will take place in Poznań. This is the largest choral event in Poland, featuring a competition, workshops, meetings, and many concerts. The theme of this year's edition will be “ensemble vocal performance”.
The project’s concept involves the confrontation of the winners of six of the oldest Polish choral competitions, held in Barczewo, Legnica, Międzyzdroje, Rumia, Bydgoszcz, and Bielsko-Biała. The laureates of these competitions compete every year for the title of the best among the best Polish choral ensembles and for prizes.
Accompanying concerts featuring several local choirs will take place in Poznań and its vicinity earlier, from November 23 to 28. During these days, numerous local ensembles will perform.
This year’s edition will be inaugurated with a concert featuring the Sjaella and Art’n’Voices Vocal Ensemble at the Aula Nova of the I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music.
Workshops in choral conducting and vocal technique will be led by renowned specialists from across the country, including Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny, Ewa Rafałko, Marzena Michałowska, Mateusz Kazimierski, and Sławomira Raczyńska.
A separate session will be dedicated to contemporary Polish choral music, with composers and singers Anna Rocławska-Musiałczyk and Marek Raczyński participating. Additionally, on November 30, the "Art’n’Voices in Practice" composition workshop will be held.
The results of the competition will be announced during the final concert on December 1 at the Aula of Adam Mickiewicz University.
The competition auditions and the laureates' concert will be streamed on the YouTube channel: Grand Prix Polskiej Chóralistyki.
