The 6th Karol Lipiński International Violin Festival and Competition will be held in Toruń from September 20 to October 6, 2024. The program includes six concerts, three stages of auditions, lectures on the life and work of Karol Lipiński, and violin-making workshops. Admission to auditions, lectures and workshops will be free!
The winner of the first prize in the previous edition of the competition, a world-class violinist from Germany, Elias David Moncado, will perform as a soloist in the inaugurating concert in the CKK Jordanki Concert Hall. This evening we will hear Overture for symphony orchestra by Grażyna Bacewicz, Symphonic Variations on Chopin's Prelude in A, Op. 28/7, subtitled "From the Life of a Nation" by Zygmunt Noskowski and Violin Concerto in G minor, Op. 26 by Max Bruch. He will be accompanied by the Toruń Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dainius Pavilionis.
