7th Creativity Forum in Warsaw: How Much Does Culture Really Cost?
What factors determine the value of culture – what does its price or valuation depend on? Is it possible to create a “calculator” of cultural value? Can intellectual value be reliably estimated at all? What is needed to ensure that creators have guaranteed decent working and pay conditions? How do funds allocated to culture flow in Poland? These questions will be addressed by the participants of the 7th Creativity Forum in Warsaw, held on October 21–22, 2025.
The Creativity Forum is a free event organized by the Creative Poland Association for people working in the culture and creative sectors. The 7th edition consists of two parts:
On Tuesday, October 21, four discussion panels are planned at Kino Kultura (also streamed on YouTube):
• What shapes the value of culture – an introduction to the issue
• How to value intellectual property?
• The circulation of money in culture – public and non-public funds
• Legal regulations in favor of creators
Each panel will feature representatives of the music world, including:
– Jerzy Kornowicz – composer, President of the Board of the Creative Poland Association
– Ewa Gruszka-Dobrzyńska – cultural economist and violinist
– Dr. Stanisław Trzciński – President of the Board of STX Music Solutions and Artistic Director of Universal Music Polska
– Joanna Grotkowska – musicologist, Director of the Polish Music Council Foundation and Board Member of the European Music Council
Admission is free!
On Wednesday, a workshop will be held:
“Business models for the creative and cultural sectors. How to effectively calculate the costs of creating and running activities.” The goal of the meeting is to develop a practical framework to help individual creators make informed financial decisions and fairly price their work. The workshop will be led by Anna Karpińska, collaborator of the Center for Creative Economy Research at SWPS University, researcher of the socio-economic situation of artists, and co-author of the report “Policzone i Policzeni 2024! Artists, creators, and performers in Poland.”
The Creativity Forums are co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage as part of the Creative Industries Institute’s flagship program: Development of the Creative Sectors.
