7th Intergenerational Musical Encounters in Mazovia

The 7th Intergenerational Musical Encounters will take place from May 18 to November 23, 2025, at the Museum of Interiors in Otwock Wielki, a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw, and at the Karczew Town and Commune Office. All events are free of charge!

The festival, organized by the Rozgłos Association, aims to present early and contemporary music at a high artistic level to a broad audience. As part of the project, four musical events combined with lectures will be held.

The first meeting will be dedicated to synesthesia – the phenomenon of seeing sounds and hearing colors. The topic will be introduced in a short lecture by Marta Mołodyńska-Wheeler, composer and pianist. Her compositions will be performed by outstanding soloists, along with the composer herself. The concert will take place among works by contemporary artists Cyryl Polaczek, Tobiasz Kenio, Jerzy Konstantynowicz, and Tomasz Raff.

The themes of the following meetings will be closely related to the history of Karczew and Otwock, as well as their notable residents. On June 15, Professor Marian Rębkowski, a distinguished archaeologist born in Karczew, will speak about the earliest history of the town. His story will be complemented by medieval music performed by Ensemble Stellatum. The event will be preceded by a family workshop, “The Art of Painting on Water”, led by J. Dębecka.

Thanks to the November 9 meeting with Dr. Anna Feliks, the audience will learn interesting facts from the life of Zofia Szymanowska-Lenartowicz, who grew up in Otwock Wielki. She was the author of memoirs offering insights into the life of Adam Mickiewicz and his wife Celina, Lenartowicz’s half-sister. That evening, works by Maria Szymanowska will be performed by Adriana Laddy, Ewelina Sielska-Badurek, and Marcin Piotr Łopacki.

The festival will conclude on November 23 with an event dedicated to Stanisław Moniuszko. After the lecture “Moniuszko and the Spirit of the Age,” selected opera scenes by Moniuszko will be performed.

All events are free to attend, but places are limited. Admission tickets are required and will be available two weeks before each event.

This public task is co-financed by the Municipality of Karczew and the Otwock County.
