9th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers

The Cracow Branch of the Polish Composers’ Union, announces the 9th Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition for Young Composers.

The subject of the competition is a composition for two accordions, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon, with a duration of 9 to 12 minutes. The deadline for submissions is February 28, 2026.

The competition jury will award one Grand Prize of 15,000 PLN. Additionally, the winning composition will be premiered in May 2026 during a concert as part of the 38th Krakow International Festival of Composers.

The Grand Prize is funded by the ZAiKS Authors’ Association, which is a Partner of the competition.
