On the 21st of April, 2023, 118 boxes with Andrzej Panufnik's scores left the composer's house in Twickenham near London for Warsaw. By decision of Lady Camilla Panufnik and her children: Jem Panufnik and Roxanna Panufnik, their father's legacy was donated to the University Library in Warsaw. The Andrzej Panufnik Archive will henceforth be part of the Polish Composers' Archive of the BUW Music Collection Cabinet, headed by Piotr Maculewicz.
The collection that was prepared by Prof. Beata Bolesławska-Lewandowska, the author of many works about the composer, includes correspondence, articles and press clippings, Panufnik's notes and programme notes, typescripts of his interviews and radio appearances, concert programmes, documentation of birthday concerts and granting the composer the noble rank, photos from various periods of his life and other materials documenting the life, work and reception of Andrzej Panufnik's music in the world. It is a priceless collection and a great gift for Poland! After thorough study, these materials will be available to researchers from Poland and around the world.
