Children's Day 2026 at the NFM

Information about the event | Wrocław | 31 May 2026

The Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław invites all children and their families to Children's Day at the NFM on 31 May 2026. This year's programme will combine play with exploring the world of sounds and Polish music in a unique atmosphere.

For this occasion, a diverse range of workshops and concerts has been planned, tailored to the age of the participants—from infants to older age groups. The programme features sessions that nurture the natural desire to connect with music through singing, movement, and closeness, as well as events combining music with storytelling, such as "Once Upon a Time..." and "Tales Written in Sound".

During this extraordinary encounter with children's literature at its finest, the most beautiful and beloved works by Julian Tuwim and Jan Brzechwa—alongside other classic texts that have entertained and touched the hearts of both children and adults for generations—will come to life on stage through a superb acting performance by Marek Kocot. The narrative will be accompanied by live piano music, subtly building the atmosphere and enhancing the character of the stories.

The youngest participants can also take part in Gordon method classes, which are based on the natural process of musical development through rhythm, movement, and improvisation.

The highlight of the celebration will be the closing concert of the 17th Leo Festival: Peter and the Wolf—a symphonic fairy tale performed by the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra and Zbigniew Zamachowski. The concert will open with pieces written specially for children by Jan Krutul, performed by the NFM children's choirs and the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra.

The audience will also have an opportunity to make music together through the Music Lover's Choir during "Tales that Connect Generations". This exceptional musical journey will take everyone into the world of the most beautiful children's melodies composed by Polish authors.

Admission to some of the workshops is free of charge.

The event is held under the Honorary Patronage of the Mayor of Wrocław.

The partner of the Children's Day at the NFM Programme is ORLEN Art & Science.
