Masterpieces of cello and piano literature will be presented by Tomasz Strahl and Paweł Wakarecy during the next event of the "Classics Across Poland" series. The concert will take place on April 25, 2026 at 5.00 pm at the Władysław Szpilman Polish Radio Studio.
The artists will perform a program pairing works by Franz Schubert with music by Fryderyk Chopin, Ludomir Różycki, and Ignacy Jan Paderewski. The event will be hosted by Agata Kwiecińska. The concert will be broadcast on Polish Radio Program 2 and via the social media channels of the National Institute of Music and Dance.
Prof. Tomasz Strahl, PhD – cellist and Rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw – is a laureate of prestigious international competitions, including 1st Prize at the Nicanor Zabaleta International Competition in San Sebastián, as well as the Fryderyk Award. He has performed as a soloist with leading orchestras in Poland and abroad, collaborating with eminent conductors and composers.
Paweł Wakarecy – pianist, pedagogue, and professor at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz – was awarded a special prize at the I.J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz. He also received an honorable mention and the award for the best Polish participant at the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2010).
"Classics Across Poland" series is implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance, and financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
