‘Three Musical Faces of Faith’ are concerts of sacred music in three versions: Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant taking place between the 29thof September and the 2ndof October. In every branch of Christianity, choral singing is an extremely important element of prayer rites, but the differences are clearly outlined. The project ‘Three Musical Faces of Faith - Sacred Music of Christian Currents' is primarily an artistic expression of these differences and praise of ecumenism - also to seek understanding through music, which is the basis of the liturgy in each of the factions.
In the project 'Three Musical Faces of Faith - Sacred Music of Christian Currents', the Institute for the Development of Art draws attention primarily to the great achievements of Polish composers in the field of sacred music
The project consists of 3 concerts performed by singers of the Collegium Cantorum Choir conducted by Janusz Siadlak. Each of the concerts will be performed in a different temple - in the Jasna Góra Basilica, and in the Evangelical-Augsburg Church and the Church of Our Lady of Częstochowa. Three beautiful monuments featuring their native music.
An interesting fact is that two concerts were combined - in the Orthodox Church and the Evangelical Church in a kind of one event. The concerts performed one after the other will be connected with the passage of the audience and artists between the Temples.
Co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund as part of the ‘Music’ programme, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
