Deadline for submissions to the 19th Kazimierz Serocki International Composers' Competition extended until October 8

The Polish Society for Contemporary Music has announced an extension of the application deadline for the 19th Kazimierz Serocki International Composers' Competition. The new deadline is October 8, 2025. The competition is open to compositions for a chamber ensemble consisting of 3 to 5 instruments (as specified in the Competition’s regulations), without conductor. Composers of all nationalities and without age limit are eligible to participate. Submitted works may have been previously performed publicly and/or awarded in other competitions. Duration of the piece: 10–16 minutes.

Submitted works will be evaluated by an international jury composed of: Paweł Łukaszewski (Poland), Paul Patterson (United Kingdom), and Dariusz Przybylski (Poland). The youngest laureate will receive a Special Prize from the Polish Music Publishers (PWM Edition).

On December 6, a winners’ concert will take place at the Władysław Szpilman Studio of Polish Radio in Warsaw, co-organized with Program 2 of Polish Radio. During the concert, the winning compositions will be performed by Hashtag Ensemble.

The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

The project is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the Culture Promotion Fund, as part of the "Music" program implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
