The Polish Composers’ Union invites you on 16 December 2025 at 1:00 PM to an online discussion meeting entitled “Who Needs Libraries in the Era of Digital Culture?”. Anyone interested in the functioning of music libraries may take part in this discussion – regardless of location, time, or the ability to participate in person.
During the meeting, Beata Bolesławska-Lewandowska, President of the Polish Composers’ Union, will introduce the new Director of POLMIC! Kamil Staszowski is a manager, researcher, popularizer, musician, and composer. In recent years, he has conducted research on manuscripts of Polish film music composers as well as various archives, including audiovisual collections, and has been active in radio and educational outreach. He is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (composition and music theory in the composition class of Prof. Stanisław Moryto), as well as postgraduate cultural management studies (UMFC/SGH).
Together with Izabela Zymer (Head of the ZKP Scientific Library), they will talk about a project carried out under the “Digital Culture” program and present its outcomes to date.
Together, we will try to find the answer to the question: “Who Needs Libraries…?”
