To strengthen Polish-German cultural exchange, Hashtag Ensemble (Warsaw) and the Alexander Camaro Foundation (Berlin) have launched a collaboration that has led to the creation of new works by Polish composers Aleksandra Bilińska and Wojciech Błażejczyk. These pieces are dedicated to Berlin-based percussionist Sabrina Ma — the initiator of the concert — and to Hashtag Ensemble. The world premieres will take place on May 24, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Hashtag Lab.
For the first time, audiences will hear Music Scene for Clown by Wojciech Błażejczyk and Tanzen in Rot und Blau by Aleksandra Bilińska.
The composers drew inspiration from the works of Alexander Camaro (1901–1992), an artist born in Wrocław — painter, graphic artist, dancer, and poet.
In addition to the two commissioned compositions, Sabrina Ma will perform solo works written for her by Swiss composer Lucien Danzeisen, created with the support of Aargauer Kuratorium, as well as compositions by Brian Ferneyhough and Michael Gordon.
The Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
