Elbląg Music Masterclass and the Young Virtuoso Competition for the fifth time!

Information about the event | Elbląg | 31 May 2026

The largest music workshops in northern Poland will once again take place in July in Elbląg. The Elbląg Chamber Orchestra is organizing this event for the fifth time, aimed at young musicians who will come to Elbląg to study with world-class pedagogues. In 2026, masterclasses will be conducted in five specializations: violin, viola, cello, double bass, and conducting. The Elbląg Music Masterclass will be held from July 3 to July 12. Registration for the courses will begin on March 20 and will run until May 31.

The violin class will be led by Jakub Jakowicz and Jarosław Nadrzycki. Katarzyna Budnik will work with violists. Magdalena Bojanowicz will teach the secrets of cello performance. Double bass players will have the opportunity to work with Marek Romanowski. Conducting workshops will be led by Anna Duczmal-Mróz. The pianist accompanying participants during lessons and recitals will be Emilia Biskupska.

In addition to masterclasses, participants can also look forward to music workshops. During the fifth edition, these will include: chamber music workshops led by Jakub Jakowicz, Katarzyna Budnik, and Marek Romanowski; physiotherapy workshops led by Marta Rusiniak (FizjoMusic); artist branding workshops led by Anna Proszowska-Sala; and jazz workshops led by Atom String Quartet.

An important part of the Elbląg Music Masterclass is also the Young Virtuoso Competition, which gives young musicians the opportunity to perform with an orchestra. The competition laureates will perform with the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra during the final concert. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to present their skills during four recitals open to the public.

As part of the event, three festival concerts will also be held for music lovers from Elbląg and tourists visiting the city during the summer: concert by Atom String Quartet with the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra, concert by the Elbląg Music Masterclass faculty and concert of the Young Virtuoso Competition laureates with the Elbląg Chamber Orchestra.
