Elżbieta Chojnacka Center for Contemporary Harpsichord Music

The Center for Contemporary Harpsichord Music,  created as a tribute to an outstanding Polish harpsichordist Elżbieta Chojnackaopened in the Rybna Palace. It is run by the artist's heiress, dr Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz.

The purpose of the Center is to preserve the integrity of Elżbieta Chojnacka's artistic and scientific heritage, to cultivate the tradition of performing harpsichord music and to promote music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The initiative is supported by the gorczycki.pl Association, the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, Polish Composers' Union, Silesian Musical Society. The patronage over the Center is taken by the Palace in Rybna, Tarnowskie Góry and Andrzej Łączyński.

As part of the project, tasks such as preserving the integrity of Elżbieta Chojnacka's legacy, continuing and nurturing the performance tradition of contemporary harpsichord music, conducting research and publishing their results in specialist journals, running a music library containing a catalog of contemporary harpsichord pieces by Polish composers and works composed for Elżbieta Chojnacka, as well as popularizing music of the twentieth and twenty-first century through concerts, lectures, cooperation with the media and the use of modern technology in concert and documentary presentations will be performed. On 25 November 2018 a concert entitled "Dedications" is planned as part of the G. G. Gorczycki International Festival, during which the harpsichordist Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz will premiere the works of Artur Zagajewski and Artur Zagajewski.

On 8-15 July 2018, the Harpsichord Master Classes will take place at the Palace in Rybna, hosted by dr Aleksandra Gajecka-Antosiewicz (Academy of Music in Łódź). Additional lectures will be given by prof. Marek Toporowski (Academy of Music in Krakow) and dr hab. Artur Zagajewski (Academy of Music in Łódź).
