Two concerts will conclude the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir Gathering – EMSOC Poland 2025. More than 150 medical students and young doctors from over 25 European countries will perform together under the baton of Marta Zielińska and Łukasz Łoboda on August 1 at 6:00 PM at the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre in Cracow and on August 2 at 6:00 PM at the NOSPR concert hall.
Poland will become the stage for a remarkable music-and-medicine project, which this year is held under the theme “Music That Heals.”
The soloists will be Marta Gamrot-Wrzoł (soprano), Ewa Kalwasińska-Garlacz (alto), Krzysztof Hrycyszyn (tenor), and Szczepan Szostok (bass).
The artists will give the world premiere of the Polonaise by Bartosz Witkowski, composed on commission from the organizers especially for the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir Gathering. The program will also include Krzesany by Wojciech Kilar, Prayer for Peace by Norbert Blacha, Ceciliada by Marcin Wawruk, as well as works by Arturo Márquez, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Karl Jenkins, and Ēriks Ešenvalds.
Proceeds from the events will support the charitable activities of the Bonifratrzy Charity Foundation (Cracow) and the Iskierka Foundation (Katowice).
