As part of the improvised concert series "f.i.m.m." at Hashtag Lab, on May 31, 2025, at 8:00 PM, percussionist and improviser Wojciech Kurek will spontaneously create music without any prior sketches or preparations, together with multimedia artist Katarzyna Podpora, whom he has invited to collaborate.
The programmatic assumption of the series is to highlight the ethereality of music itself. Therefore, the improvised work that will emerge during the concert will not be recorded in any form, ensuring that it remains truly unrepeatable. This real uniqueness of the event may influence the way we listen to this one-time music performance by two experimenters.
Wojtek Kurek programs custom-made effects and instruments, processing acoustic sound to create organic structures. He uses neural digital tools.
Katarzyna Podpora employs an instrumentarium composed of materials considered waste, including remnants of non-human beings—animal bones, dead plant parts—as well as broken instruments, damaged vinyl records, and field recording tapes.
The Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab is co-financed by the Capital City of Warsaw.
