The 2Act Foundation invites you to the final concert of the 4th "Art & Violence" Composition Competition, which will take place on June 26, 2025, at 8:15 PM at the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Cracow. The event will be a space for the meeting of art and reflection on the contemporary world. Admission is free!
The subject of this year's edition of the competition was a piece for solo pedal harp, referring in its concept to the reflection of all forms of violence in art. From among 22 submissions from around the world, the jury selected two compositions which will be performed publicly for the first time during this evening. Harpist Adrian Nowak will premiere the works HABITUS "The invisible evil" by the Italian Massimo Lauricella and The Secret Drawer by the Mexican Alex Jimenez Ruanova.
Additionally, the well-known Polish harpist, specializing in the performance of contemporary music, will also present extra solo pieces, showcasing the wide range of sonic possibilities of this extraordinary instrument: Preludio e Cadenza by Edward Bogusławski and Formless Gesture No. 0 by Nadria Okwan.
