The ending of the artistic season of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra on June 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM will be a meeting with music full of space, emotion, and reflection – both rooted in tradition and creatively seeking new means of expression.
The concert program will include works by outstanding composers of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. The performers of the evening will be baritone Hubert Zapiór, renowned for the elegance of his phrasing and profound interpretive sensitivity, and conductor Norbert Twórczyński, who will lead the chamber musicians of the Silesian Philharmonic.
Hubert Zapiór will perform songs by Mieczysław Karłowicz, filled with melancholy and romantic longing, arranged by Rafał Kłoczko for voice and string orchestra. He will also present Three Sonnets to the words of William Shakespeare, composed by the Philharmonic’s director Adam Wesołowski, in translations by Maciej Słomczyński.
The program will also feature traditional compositions by the Philharmonic’s patron – Three Pieces in the Old Style by Henryk Mikołaj Górecki – as well as the Romance from Serenade, Op. 2 by Karłowicz, and the Adagietto from the Fifth Symphony by Gustav Mahler.
The concert will conclude with the famous Orawa by Wojciech Kilar.
