The Fryderyk Chopin State Music School of I and II degree in Sochaczew invites students from grades 3-6 of II degree music schools to participate in the First National Ear Training Competition "Słuchogramy: A ≠ 440". The competition will take place on April 5, 2025, and the deadline for submitting applications is March 24.
The theme of the first edition of the competition explores selected microtonal issues and the use of scales and repetitive sound patterns in artistic practice, with particular emphasis on examples drawn from the works of Polish composers, including those from the youngest generation.
The competition will consist of two stages. The first stage – with audience participation – includes quiz questions, dictation puzzles, tasks focused on observation and attentive listening, and interactive dictations. The second stage is practical: participants will present solfège and rhythmic exercises – including those with instrumental accompaniment.
The event's partners are the Polish Music Publishing House and the Young Circle of the Polish Composers' Union.
