The Music Education and Music Psychology Research Group of the Institute of Music and Dance resumes on-line psychological counseling for artists. Consultations will be provided by psychologists with music or dance education and experience in artistic activity, who work with people of artistic professions and are well-versed in the problems of musicians and dancers.
Counseling is a continuation of the free package for artists, musicians and dancers, launched by the Institute of Music and Dance on 21 April 2020, in order to meet the expectations and needs of the environment during the pandemic. In the period from April to June 2020, artists took advantage of over 70 free online psychological consultations.
As explained by dr Małgorzata Chmurzyńska, psychologist providing support in both editions: "As part of the counseling wspieraMy [WE support], artists can talk to me and other experts about problems related to both artistic and professional as well as private life, about dealing with emotions, stress, stage fright, social exhibition, fear of being judged, and also about working in the artistic environment, which is often difficult. We also offer knowledge on, among others, strategies of developing motivation to practice or techniques of coping with a crisis as well as help in analysis of own abilities".
