Gdańsk | Concerts for Gdańsk Residents: Adam Diesner's Music

Diesner

A graduation concert of the composer Adam Diesner will take place on May 25, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Gdańsk as part of the cycle "Concerts for Gdańsk Residents".

The concert will be performed by the Chamber Choir Duc in Altum, the Baltic Chamber Choir and the Orchestra of True Friends conducted by the composer as well as the soloists: Nikola Gąsior (soprano), Damian Giczewski (baritone) and Andrzej Szadejko (organ).

The musicians will present Kaszubskie Te Deum (2016) by Adam Diesner to the text in Kashubian by Zbigniew Joskowski. Numerous quotes throughout the work direct the listener's attention towards the tradition of the Church and the musical themes are based on motifs taken from Gregorian chant. Then, we will listen to the premiere of Kyrie from Missa Solemnis pro toto Mundo for mixed choir, men's choir and symphony orchestra by Diesner. The whole cycle will be presented on April 19, 2020 on the Feast of Divine Mercy, almost twenty years after its establishment by Pope John Paul II.
