For the first time in Poland, a legend of the improvised music scene—Andrea Centazzo—will perform live! The concert will take place at Hashtag Lab in Warsaw on May 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. In accordance with his wishes, he will be joined by double bassist Ksawery Wójciński and trumpeter Olgierd Dokalski. The evening will open with an improvised concert by Marta Grzywacz—vocalist and improviser from Hashtag Ensemble.
Andrea Centazzo—a percussionist, composer, and improviser—is the founder of the ICTUS label. The DAMS Department of the University of Bologna recently established the Fondo Andrea Centazzo, a special collection where all of his works are archived and made accessible to students and researchers. Although he has been active on the international scene for five decades, this will be his first-ever performance in Poland.
The concert will also mark the first collaboration between Centazzo and Olgierd Dokalski—trumpeter, composer, director, and screenwriter—and Ksawery Wójciński—double bassist, composer, and vocalist.
A unique, one-of-a-kind evening of improvisation—possibly unlike anything we've heard before—is co-organized by the Słuchaj! Foundation and FSRecords publishing house.
The Contemporary Music Space Hashtag Lab is co-financed by the City of Warsaw.
