Jelenia Góra | "Stage for Polish Music": Polish Violin Duo
The Lower Silesian Philharmonic invites the audience on 7 October 2021 at 1.00 p.m. for a chamber concert co-organized with the National Institute of Music and Dance as part of the "Stage for Polish Music" programme. Works by outstanding Polish composers will be presented by the Polish Violin Duo.
Polish Violin Duo is composed of violinists Marta Gidaszewska and Robert Łaguniak. The duo was nominated in the last edition of the "Coryphaeus of Polish Music" award in the "discovery of the year" category for unconventionality as classical duo. The musicians are still students of the Music Academies in Poznań and Łódź, and they have already won over 180 awards at competitions around the world. Their most important achievements include the 1st prize and six special prizes at the Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music in Rzeszów (2019) and the 1st prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Competition of Chamber Ensembles in Germany (2019).
This Thursday, they will perform Duo Concertante in B flat major for two violins, Op. 16 No. 3 by Joachim Kaczkowski, Caprices from Op. 18 by Henryk Wieniawski, Suites for two violins by Grażyna Bacewicz and Michał Spisak, as well as Sonatina by Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz.
The concert is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport.
