Kraków | 140th Anniversary of the National Museum in Kraków
The National Museum in Kraków and Sinfonietta Cracovia invite you to the concert on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the National Museum in Krakow, which will take place on 24 August 2019 in the Kraków Cloth Hall.
The concert repertoire will incude the premiere of songs by Bolesław Raczyński in Jan Stańczyk's arrangement for string orchestra and baritone. We will also listen to the Death of Ellenai by Feliks Nowowiejski in the arrangement for string orchestra, clarinet and reciter. The work inspired by a poem of the same title by Juliusz Słowacki and a painting by Jacek Malczewski from the Gallery of Polish Art of the 19th in the Cloth Hall, will be performed in the Siemiradzki Room, in the immediate vicinity of the painting. The programme will also feature Roxana's Song from Karol Szymanowski's opera King Roger in the arrangement for solo violin and string orchestra, Szymanowski's Etude in B flat minor Op. 4 No. 3 in the arrangement for string orchestra and Serenade for string orchestra Op. 2 by Mieczysław Karłowicz.
The works will be performed by Jakub Kosiniak (reciter), Michał Janicki (baritone) and the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra conducted by Maciej Lulek.
